This is to inform you of an updated policy passed by the outgoing 25-26 board in the last week of June. This policy is effective immediately and will be reflected in Rev F of the Policies and Procedures.

The Change
The ACCC Board of Directors adjusted the ACCC Enrollment priorities to include children who have at least one parent who is ACCC staff in Priority 1. This new enrollment prioritization supersedes the Policy and Procedures (P&P) Document, Rev E (Section 1.2.2).
This change does not alter any other enrollment priorities except as necessary to place ACCC staff children in the highest priority category.
Why
The quality of care provided to children depends on ACCC’s ability to recruit and retain qualified teachers and staff. Like many early childhood education centers, ACCC recognizes that access to reliable childcare is an important factor for employees when choosing and remaining in their positions.
Providing the highest enrollment priority to children of ACCC staff:
- Supports recruitment and retention of qualified educators.
- Helps maintain consistent staffing and reduces classroom disruptions.
- Strengthens ACCC’s ability to operate classrooms at licensed capacity, benefiting the center as a whole.
- Reflects the Board’s commitment to providing a stable, high-quality learning environment for all children and appreciation for all that ACCC’s staff does for our families
Updated Policy
The updated order is as follows:
Priority 1 — Children who have either:
1) a sibling currently enrolled at ACCC with at least one parent or guardian who is:
- A NASA Civil Servant,
- Another Federal Employee,
- Active Duty or Reserve Military personnel,
- ACCC Staff, or
- A Federal Contractor working at Moffett Field (e.g., with NASA or USGS), or
2) at least one parent or guardian who is an ACCC Staff member
Priority 2 — Children with at least one parent or guardian who is:
- A NASA Civil Servant,
- Another Federal Employee, or
- Active Duty or Reserve Military personnel
Priority 3 — Children with at least one parent or guardian who is a Federal Contractor working at Moffett Field (e.g., with NASA or USGS)
Priority 4 — Children with a sibling currently enrolled at ACCC but whose parent or guardian does not fall within the categories above (e.g., NASA Research Park or General Public families).
Priority 5 — All other applicants, including families employed within NASA Research Park and the general public.
The Board will continue to periodically review the Enrollment Priorities Policy to ensure it supports the long-term needs of ACCC, its families, and its staff.
