Hello Parents,

We wanted to let you know that the waitlist was restructured to follow the new Parent Handbook Revision E. These changes refer to Section 1.2.2 Priority Categories (pg.11)

Because of the restructuring, you might have seen changes in your placement following these new priorities and designations.  Any new additions to the waitlist will follow these priorities as well:

Priority 1 : Sibling in the program + NASA Civil Servant, Federal Employee, Active/ Reserve Military, ACCC Staff, or Moffett Field Contractors
Priority 2 : NASA Civil Servant, Federal Employee, Active/Reserve Military, or ACCC Staff
Priority 3 : A Federal Contractor working at Moffett Field (e.g., with NASA or USGS)
Priority 4 : Sibling in the program (general public)
Priority 5: General Public Family including NASA Research Park

Changes were officially administered on June 1st, 2026

If you are a veteran or a non-NASA civil servant, you will be placed in our General Public Priority group (Priority 5) on the waitlist and will pay the General Public tuition rates once your child is enrolled.

If you are part of  NASA Research Park, you will also be placed in our General Public Priority group (Priority 5) on the waitlist; however, once enrolled, you will qualify for the NASA Personnel and  (active and reserve) Military tuition rates.

If you work at U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) as part of NASA Research Park, you will be placed in our Moffett Field Contractors group (Priority 3).

Please click here to view our tuition rates.

Everyone on the waitlist was  designated a new priority number besides Federal Contractors working at Moffett Field (Priority 3 on previous and new waitlist priorities).

There were families that moved up the waitlist and families that moved down.

Movement on the waitlist primarily affected families in Priorities 1–3. For most families, movement was minimal and depended largely on the number of waitlisted families who currently have siblings enrolled in the program.

Families in Priorities 1–3  were also re-evaluated based on their employment which caused a major shift downward to some families in regards to their placements as we make sure placements fairly aligns with our policies.
